Paediatric Continence Physiotherapy is a specialised area of physiotherapy, focused on the assessment and management of a wide range of bladder, bowel and pelvic health concerns in children and adolescents. Continence physiotherapists are qualified physiotherapists with post graduate qualifications in continence management.

We see children from the commencement of toilet training, through to adolescence, up until the age of 17 years of age.

We work with families to address a range of continence concerns including:

  • Toilet training difficulties
  • Constipation and stool withholding
  • Soiling (poo accidents)
  • Daytime bladder urgency
  • Daytime wetting
  • Giggle incontinence
  • Nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting)

At Continence 4 Kids, we recognise the impact that continence challenges can have on a young person’s confidence, as well as the significant family frustration that can result from these issues. Our approach is child centred, evidence based and collaborative. We work in partnership with your child or adolescent, family and other health professionals involved in your child’s care, to support your child in achieving their continence goals.

We are committed to providing sensitive, individualised, and goal-oriented care, to assist in providing young people and their families with a sense of empowerment throughout their continence journey.
