Priya is a General Paediatrician who believes that the best care starts with listening. She enjoys getting to know children and their families, understanding what matters most to them, and working together to help each child thrive. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the understanding that every child develops within the context of their family, culture, community, and life experiences.

Priya has particular interest in developmental and behavioural paediatrics, community child health, refugee health, and the important foundational relationships between children and their caregivers. Having worked with children and families across metropolitan and remote Australia as well as currently working at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Priya values learning from the diverse experiences and perspectives of the families she meets. Being quite multilingual and having an ear for languages allows her to connect with many families with the nuances of their cultural contexts and helps create a more comfortable and inclusive healthcare experience.

Outside of medicine, Priya is happiest spending time with her family, getting lost in a good book, or filling notebooks with writing projects that may or may not ever be finished. She describes herself as an enthusiastic but decidedly average embroiderer and loves any opportunity to learn something new. Her curiosity about people, stories, and cultures continues to shape both her life and her work as a paediatrician.
