Dr Taryn Luitingh

General Paediatrician
Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrician

Consulting Days: Wednesday and Thursday

Taryn is a dedicated General Paediatrician who takes a strength-based approach to her practice. She likes to work in partnership with children and their families to achieve their best possible outcomes, with empathy and understanding. Taryn has a special interest in the assessment and care of children facing a wide range of medical and developmental challenges, including physical and intellectual disabilities, autism, ADHD and palliative medicine.

Taryn completed her medical degree at the University of Melbourne, followed by her internship at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. She went on to complete her Paediatric training in Victoria at both the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital. Currently, Taryn is actively involved in research with Community Child Health department at the Royal Children’s Hospital. Driven by her passion for mental health and wellbeing, Taryn is committed to supporting both her patients and colleagues in this important area. As she progresses in her career, Taryn continues to integrate her clinical and research experiences, offering strength-based and compassionate patient-centered care.

Outside of her professional life, Taryn cherishes time spent with her family and finds joy in being surrounded by animals and nature. She also has a deep appreciation for music, having played the cello in the past, and looks forward to re-engaging with this passion in the future.

Taryn is deeply committed to child health and enjoys working with children and their families to understand and address their unique concerns. She enjoys advocating for her families and values working collaboratively with all members of the care team to ensure the best outcome for the child and their family.
