Background and Experience
Alexa is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with extensive experience supporting infants, children, adolescents and their families through a wide range of nutrition and health concerns. She currently serves as the Lead Adolescent Medicine Dietitian at The Royal Children’s Hospital, where she provides specialist nutrition care for adolescents with complex clinical and nutrition-related needs.
Before joining The Royal Children’s Hospital, Alexa worked at Monash Children’s Hospital and other leading tertiary health services across Melbourne, building expertise in paediatric and adolescent nutrition within multidisciplinary healthcare teams. She is passionate about evidence-based practice and has presented at professional conferences, including the Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders, alongside working in research. Alexa is a credentialed Eating Disorder clinician. She has also completed the Monash University Low FODMAP Diet for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
Clinical Interests
Alexa has a special interest in eating disorders and disordered eating, adolescent health.
She also has an interest working in the following areas:
- Autism, Neurodiversity
- ADHD
- Gender-diverse care
- Fussy/Selective eating
- Poor growth and weight concerns
- Infant feeding and the introduction of solids
- Gastrointestinal nutrition.
She enjoys supporting young people and their families with practical, individualised nutrition care that reflects each person’s unique circumstances and goals.
Practice Philosophy
Alexa believes nutrition care should be compassionate, collaborative and tailored to the individual. She works alongside children, adolescents and their families to develop realistic, sustainable strategies that support long-term health and wellbeing. By creating a welcoming and supportive environment, Alexa aims to empower clients to build confidence in their relationship with food while feeling heard and respected throughout their healthcare journey.
Alexa’s passions outside of work include latin dancing, paddle boarding, swimming and her sourdough baking. As well as taking her dog, Noodles for walks along the beach.
